(01/13/12) - There are many exciting and beautiful cars at the auto show in Detroit, but there is one vehicle on display in the lobby at Cobo Center that caught the eye of our resident poet.
Here's Randy Conant, along with director of brand management for Craftsman, Omney Crawley, in Randy's ode to a garden tractor.
Randy:You'll be dazzled when you come to the Motor City. The cars are all shiny and very pretty. It's the place where electricity is kept in jars. Crawley:This is the international stage for cars.
Randy: But what do we see in the lobby? It's great if mowing is your hobby. The Craftsmen CTX will make lawncare breezier. Crawley: It's going to help make their job easier.
Randy: The CTX has many features That can make you one of the lawn mowing creatures. Traction control can make you bolder. Crawley: We've got fun things like the cupholder.
Randy: It has a 30 horse engine for lots of power. You'll want to drive it for many an hour. The folks at Sears guarantee you're delighted. Crawley: You know people have been really excited.
Randy: That Briggs and Stratton engine is the top of the line. Your garden will be so beautiful and fine. It has plenty of torque, enough for any chore. Crawley: All the power and more you could ask for.
Randy: Electronic fuel management is a new device. That's bound to make mowing extra nice. Just turn the key and the grass will be parting. Crawley: You get reliable and easy starting.
Randy: Designers have made the tractor seat. Comfortable in cold and in heat. You can adjust it as you ride south and north. Crawley: You can kind of push it back and forth.
Randy: It's extremely versatile for all your towing. It's more than a machine for lawn mowing. You could even use it when you're feeling tense. Crawley: I get it. It totally makes sense.
Randy: Did I mention it has tilt steering? Every blade of grass in your lawn will be fearing. Showing it in Detroit was the deciding factor. Crawley: This is the perfect location, time and place to unveil this tractor.
