(01/23/12) - Students at the Genesee Intermediate School District received a rather helpful gift Monday.
The Feed the Children organization donated 960 backpacks. They're filled with school supplies, food, and books, not to mention toothpaste, deodorant and combs.
The backpacks will be distributed later this year to students whose families have been dealing with homelessness.
"I'm so grateful to Feed the Children. I wasn't expecting this. I had no idea that this was something they were involved in and am tremendously grateful to the generosity of Feed the Children," said Judith Zabik of the Genesee Intermediate School District.
Feed the Children plans to distribute more than 150,000 backpacks throughout the country this school year.
