(01/25/12) - Several Mid-Michigan schools received a big financial boost Wednesday morning as Jim Waldron GMC in Davison announced the recipients of its $50,000 School Challenge program.
The Goodrich, Grand Blanc, Davison and Lapeer districts were among those receiving checks.
Over the last year, Waldron customers earned points with their purchases, and then designated them to a school of their choice.
Once a particular point level was reached, the dealership allocated funds to the participating school districts.
"It's giving back. As they do busy with us, it's a way that we can give back to them. Obviously with school budgets the way they are, every little bit helps," Jim Waldron said.
This was part three of the Challenge. Waldron began the program in 2010 in response to school funding cuts at the state level.
