(02/09/12) - Just in time for Valentine's Day, some Bay County kids showed their love for local pets.
Students from McAlear-Sawden Elementary loaded up several boxes of pet supplies that are headed for the Bay County Humane Society and the Salvation Army Pet Pantry.
They collected everything from pet food and toys, to other essentials like food and water dishes.
"This is just, kind of just a little snapshot of what we collected. They've been collecting the last couple of weeks, so we probably filled out about 10, 15 boxes, so I'm very proud," said principal Michael Connors.
All these supplies will help the humane society and the Salvation Army support financially struggling families that are having a hard time meeting their pets' needs.
