SAGINAW COUNTY (WJRT) -

(02/14/12) - Two men are accused of a crime spree that spans three Mid-Michigan counties.

Police have linked the men to a rash of robberies in Saginaw County.

Thirty-one-year-old Traymond Beardsley and 28-year-old James Kerbleski are behind bars, charged with armed robbery and assault.

The assault charges come after a Montrose Township police officer was injured after spotting their getaway car. Investigators said the two men robbed the Admiral gas station in Brady and Gabe's Grocery in Burt.

The duo could also face charges in Bay and Shiawassee counties.

Sandy Dougherty was working the night Gabe's Grocery in Burt was robbed. "The robber came in through the breeze way doors, holding a gun, telling me to get down on the ground."

Sandy said the thief demanded that she open the cash register. Surveillance video caught the whole thing on tape. He pulled out the tray and ran out. "At first I thought it was someone in the neighborhood playing a sick joke, until he came around and pushed me to ground then I realized this was for real."

Theresa Peavey was on the phone with Sandy just as the armed robber came walking in. "I was actually on my way back to help her do the end of the paper work. When I came in, she looked so distraught."

"The moment I saw him look at me, the look on his face, in his eyes, that will be with me for a long time," added Dougherty.

Tuesday was Sandy's first day back behind the register. "It's going to be scary for awhile, that's why I came in today to see how it was going to work for me."

"I was thankful, she wasn't hurt, they're like to us, we are really close here," Peavey said.

Police tell us the robbers could be linked to three gas station robberies in Bay County and at least two more in Shiawassee County.
