Presidential candidates compete to win Michigan

Posted: Updated:
GENESEE COUNTY (WJRT) -

(02/15/12) - Former Massachusetts Governor and Michigan native Mitt Romney was in Grand Rapids on Wednesday trying to hold off a Rick Santorum Surge.

Santorum will be in Detroit on Thursday hoping to beat Romney on his home turf.

Gov. Rick Snyder is weighing in on the race for the White House.

Reports indicate that Snyder will announce the republican candidate he plans to support on Thursday.

This as both Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum make stops in Michigan just days before the state's republican primary.

Recent polls put Romney and Santorum in a statistical dead heat for the president nomination, while other polls have Santorum ahead in the race to win Michigan.
