(02/20/12) - Automotive pioneer Louis Chevrolet took a road trip Monday.
Over the past several months, a Vienna Township man has been busy in his workshop, creating a full size statue of Chevrolet.
Monday morning, a crew carefully loaded the clay statue on a truck to be bronzed at a foundry in Clarkston.
Joe Rundell's final creation is expected to be unveiled in downtown Flint in August during Back to the Bricks Week.
"It came as a challenge for me. I'm actually a firearms engraver. One person told me I couldn't do it. So I thought I'd prove that person wrong," Rundell said.
Rundell has already started on his next statue, David Dunbar Buick.
