(02/21/12) - They're stuffed with prune filling, jelly, custard, and whole lot of sugar and fat, never mind those calories.
It's Fat Tuesday, the last day to indulge before Lent, and yes, there's been plenty of indulging going on at Kryziak's House in Bay City.
Don Kryziak and his crew worked around the clock to get ready, and it was quite the scene in his bakery and restaurant Tuesday morning, complete with a polka band, and hundreds of customers lined up bright and early.
"It's a big day for Kryziak's, not just because of paczki day, but for getting the community involved. This is a Salvation Army fundraiser. We tie this in because the Salvation Army does so much for the community," Kryziak said.
By the end of the day, Kryziak's House expects to sell more than 10,000 paczkis.
