(02/22/12) - Conditions haven't been too wintry, but it was still a successful year for the Genesee County Senior Winter Olympics.
The games wrapped up Wednesday with closing ceremonies and a banquet at the Davison Knights of Columbus Hall.
In addition to the thrill of victory, or the agony of defeat, participants took the opportunity to get in some recreation and to see old friends and co-workers.
This year's events included arts and crafts, dance, bowling and cards, just to name a few.
"We are finally ending this February-long event. We have had over 35 games, over 600 participants. It's a great event. And as you can tell from the turnout what a crowd we have got here today," said chairperson Karen Popovits.
The ceremonies marked the end of the thirty-forth annual games.
