Robotics competition breaks records

Posted: Updated:

(03/03/12) - Thousands of people were in Flint Saturday for what has become a major sport.

It was a record turnout for the 2012 FIRST Robotics Districts Competition, held inside Kettering University's Recreation Center.

An estimated 2,500 people took part over a three-day period and 39 high school teams competed.

They had six weeks to build their robots and perfect their game.

The team from Grand Blanc won Saturday's event.
