(03/30/12) - Some local celebrities put on their chef's hat for a good cause Wednesday.
ABC12's Matt Franklin, Kevin Goff, Lori Dougovito and Miss Michigan Elizabeth Wertenberger helped grill up proceeds for the Children's Miracle Network at Bd's Mongolian Grill in Flint Township.
The fundraiser was hosted by Swartz Creek teen Alex Ray.
"I was born with congenital emphysema, which is a really rare disease - only about 100 people get it each year throughout the whole entire world. So I wanted to give back, but I didn't know how. So I took what I love, which was music, and I gave back to them," Ray said.
Wednesday's proceeds will help offset the costs of the new song Alex is recording, to benefit CMN Hospitals.
ABC12 will host the CMN Telethon, Sunday June 3.
