(04/03/12) - Two Michigan teens on spring break in Florida witnessed an accident and were the first ones on scene to help a couple escape from their burning car.

The images we've posted of that wreck were taken by a Web news agency Flagler Live. It's the charred remains of the 2002 Jaguar that crashed and caught fire early Tuesday morning.

Local reports say 17-year-old Cody Decker and Luke Vaughn of Dewitt saw the vehicle speed past them while in Palm Coast, Florida. Seconds later, it crashed, trapping the driver and passenger, a Florida couple in their early 40s.

The teens broke the glass and bent the door frame down to get them out before emergency crews even got there.

Deputies say the vehicle had hit two trees and separated into almost two pieces.

As of Tuesday evening, the couple remains in critical condition. The teens were treated for minor injuries to their hands.

Investigators say their quick, selfless actions may have saved the lives of the couple.
