(04/19/12) - A local community watch group will soon have a new tool to help fight crime.
The College Cultural Neighborhood Watch has been in place for the last two years, starting with news flyers, then patrol cars, recently an alert system, and this Saturday they're unveiling their new mini-station.
It's an office space at 825 Commonwealth not far from Mott Community College that group co-chairman, Craig Wolcott, says will give them a physical presence in their neighborhood.
He says it will also give people a place to come in and report problems or anything they see, as well as recruit new members.
The open house is this Saturday from 1-5 p.m. at the new mini-station. All are welcome.
