(04/26/12) - Both Saginaw and Flint are in the top 10 when it comes to the most dangerous cities for women.
The national study was just released by Forbes Magazine.
Saginaw ranked number one, with Flint coming in at number six.
Another Michigan City, Battle Creek, is nine on the list.
While these numbers are disturbing, it's motivating women to take matters into their own hands by learning how to protect themselves by taking self defense classes.
"You learn how to take them down. It makes you more prepared for basically anything that will happen, it makes you good with weapons, clubs, fists, it shows you what to do and how to do it," said Theresa Dray from Dragon Karate in Lapeer.
