Students headed to Cambodia

DAVISON (WJRT) -

(04/29/12) - A group of local college students are traveling to Cambodia to help sick kids, but the group needs help once they get there.

The students raised money Sunday at the crafts for Cambodia event at the VFW in Davison.

The group, from the University of Michigan-Flint, will travel overseas next month.

They will provide health care needs to kids who are living in orphanages.

"We are also accepting donations for medical supplies like gauze, medical tape, medical gloves, school supplies, for the children antibiotic cream, vitamins and pain relief and so on," said volunteer Melissa Healy.

Ten students and two faculty members will make the trip.

The craft fair featured more than 30 vendors, food, games, a silent auction and a raffle.
