    Flint Police continue to investigate a suspicious death reported Friday morning.

    Police were called to the 1000 block of Van Buskirk Street, around 8:30 a.m., and found 38-year-old Shane Denise Bartels outside of her home.

    She was pronounced dead a short time later.

(06/13/12) - Flint Police say a Flint woman's death in January, first reported as just suspicious, is now classified as a homicide.

Police tell ABC12, toxicology reports show Shane Bartels died of asphyxiation and the manner of death is homicide.

Officers were called to the 1000 block of Van Buskirk around 8:30 a.m. of January 13 and found 38-year-old Bartels outside her home.

She was pronounced dead a short time later.

The original call was about a suicide.
