Days after storm, families still struggling without power

DAVISON (WJRT) -

(07/08/12) - Thousands in Mid-Michigan were still without power Sunday.

Many have been without power since last week's storm, while others just lost power Sunday morning.

Something went wrong with a Flushing substation, and those in that area have been without electricity since 6 a.m.

Consumers Energy is estimating everyone's power will be back on by midnight Sunday.

Families at Creekwood Apartments in Davison haven't had power since Friday.

Lani McComb said it's just too miserable for her and her 1-year-old daughter, so she's been out of the house as much as possible.

She had to ship most of her groceries over to her family's freezer to keep them from spoiling.

It's the same story for most at Creekwoood, but a few neighbors do have electricity.

"It's kind of confusing because the middle building does have power, so I don't really understand how that all works," said Jeremy Poger.
