Homeowner still looking for answers on sink hole

GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP (WJRT) -

(07/12/12) - A large sink hole is still inching closer to a Grand Blanc Township home. The home is in the Wishing Well subdivision off Maple Avenue.

We told you about it back in May and two months later, the homeowner said she's still trying to get answers about when it will be repaired.

"The day you came out they put rocks in and put up a new fence around it, since then nothing, but it's still spreading and sinking closer and closer to our house," said Dana Voss.

Voss said the hole opened up in March and when she started to look for help, she got the run around until she called us in May.

"All the way back in March they knew it wasn't a job that they could do because they don't have a crew to do it. They just kept telling me that someone else would take care of it, now it's half way through July and it's still not taken care of."

So the sink hole saga continues. Voss was told a broken tile caused the problem. The drain is part of the Genesee County system. Voss said she called there several times looking for answers.

"We called the county I don't know how many times back and forth and until the day I called you, so from March to May they had a little fence up, then it fell in, I called them about that, they never came to fix it till the day you came."

ABC12 News called Drain Commissioner Jeff Wright again Thursday. We were told a crew will be out Monday to fix the sink hole.

"We will go on that hope it's next week," Voss said.

Jeff Wright also said it's a coincidence that the day we called them in May also happened to be the day they filled the hole with rocks. The Commissioner adds they're working as quickly as they can.
