FLINT (WJRT) -
(07/12/12) - The neighbor of a woman murdered last month says she saw that woman, covered in blood, with wounds to her chest and side, moving around her driveway, trying to get up.
49-year-old Joyce Nelson was found shot outside of her home, on Van Wagoner Avenue near Marvin Street in Flint, June 21.
Her live-in boyfriend, 54-year-old Cleophis Hall, is charged and was back in court Thursday afternoon.
The hearing is to determine if there's enough evidence for Hall to stand trial.
We heard from just one witness so far, Hall and Nelson's neighbor Emma Hasan.
Hasan says it was about 4:30 a.m., she was watching the news and heard a noise outside coming from across the street.
"I heard a car door slam real hard," Hasan said.
Hasan says she looked out the window and saw a red Blazer in the driveway with its headlights on.
She heard something else a few minutes later.
"I heard another noise and it sounded like a gun so I got up and looked out again," Hasan says. "A few minutes later I saw a lady laying in the end of the driveway trying to get up."
Hasan says she called 911, a neighbor and then started dressing to go outside.
She looked out the window again and says she saw a man on the steps, but couldn't tell who because it was dark.
By the time she got outside, Hasan says the red Blazer was gone and an ambulance had arrived.
Crews were working on her neighbor.
"She didn't say a word," Hasan says.
Nelson was a behavior specialist at Hamady High School in Mt. Morris Township.
Hasan says she saw a long gun, possibly a rifle, near a gate going into the yard.
Flint Police have said Nelson's boyfriend, Hall, showed up in at the police department after the shooting, covered in blood.
A red Blazer was parked in a nearby parking lot.
Hall's hearing continues later this month.
He's charged with open murder, felon in possession of a firearm and felony firearm.
