It's not business as usual in Washington, D.C. or on the presidential campaign trail as a result of Friday's Colorado movie theater shootings. The incident is also thrusting the messages of pro-and-anti-gun lobbies – based in our nation's capital – back in to the spotlight.

FLINT TOWNSHIP (WJRT) -
(07/20/12) - Just hours after the deadly shootings at a The Dark Knight Rises premiere in Colorado, Mid-Michigan movie-goers caught the blockbuster film in local theaters.
At Rave Cinemas in Flint Township, the mid-to-late morning showings on Friday weren't packed, like the midnight shows the night before. It's hard to tell if that was a result of the Colorado shooting or just the timings of the shows. Folks who did still go say they're aware of the situation in Colorado, but they're not letting it ruin their fun.
"That was really sad," says Derrick Mosely, of Flint. "I don't really understand what started it or caused it, but it was a sad event."
Rave Cinemas has five screens dedicated to the new film throughout the day, and they don't plan to cancel any showings, following the situation in Colorado.
