Sunday Flint shootings leave two dead

Posted: Updated:
FLINT (WJRT) -

(07/22/12) - It's been a deadly and violent weekend in Mid-Michigan.

Two people were shot and killed in Flint this morning. The first shooting in the 3400 block of Clio Road.

A man believed to be in his 20s was found lying in the Dawn Donuts parking lot. He later died at the hospital.

Just before 5 Sunday morning, police responded to another shooting in the 7000 block of Yorkshire at River Park Apartments

The victim was 16-years-old. A friend has identified him as Markisse Parker.

A spokesman for the U.S. Department of Labor confirms he was a Job Corps student in Grand Rapids out on summer break.

Nearby neighbors are disgusted.

"There's a lot of little kids out here, there's a lot of youth, you know what I'm saying?" said Andre Hunter, who lives near Dawn Donuts.

It's an all too familiar thought between Flint parents.

"That's the age where every body's child is dying, it can't be mine, I always want to know where he is at all times," said Jonathan Wagner.

If you have information on either of these shootings, contact police.
