(07/30/12) - A political candidate in Mid-Michigan faces a charge of perjury.
Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette says 23-year-old Jared Staley knowingly submitted false information when he filed to run for Flushing Township Trustee.
According to the AG's office, the false information stemmed from Staley's previous involvement with a political action committee.
He was charged Monday with one felony count of "False Swearing" under state election law.
