SAGINAW COUNTY (WJRT) -
(07/31/12) - It's only the first day, and people are already crowding to get into the Saginaw County fair grounds.
Over the next several days, they'll bring thousands of people into Chesaning, and that means a shot in the arm to plenty of Mid-Michigan businesses.
"It's a boost for businesses, especially Saginaw County Fair. All the money is spent back in the community, so it's really a boost, whatever we make we spend back here," said fair president, Francis Sloan.
The fair expects to generate a couple hundred thousand dollars.
Leaman's Green Applebarn travels to Chesaning from Freeland to sell their apple cider slush. They say it's well worth their drive.
"Business is really good, we have some really good people here, we're doing a lot of good numbers, selling a lot of cider, as much as 20 to 30 gallons a day," said Alan Reisinger.
So no matter their reason for coming, Saginaw County businesses are benefiting from five days of food, fun and furry friends.
The fair runs through August fourth. For more information, click HERE.
