(08/01/12) - People in Saginaw are now being allowed back in their homes after being evacuated earlier Wednesday afternoon because of a gas main rupture.
It happened just after 2 near the corner of Granger and West Remington.
The Fire Department says a construction crew was working in that area, and one of their saws cut a gas line.
They evacuated the immediate area just to be safe, but Consumers Energy is on the scene and they turned off the gas line.
They'll be working for the next hour or more, and Remington will be closed.
Eight people are without gas while they repair the rupture, but Consumers expects to be done by 5:30 p.m.
