(08/02/12) - There was a bizarre situation Thursday afternoon at the Flint home of the mother of Olympic boxer Claressa Shields.
Police confirm a man was shot and is in good condition.
Officers say he may have accidentally shot himself in the foot while trying to get a gun, after an altercation with others outside of the home on Spencer.
It's off of Saginaw not far from where Shields trains at the Berston Field House.
Shields drew a bye for the first round, which means she won't be in the ring until Monday.
A neighbor confirmed the home involved is her mother's.
Shield's trainer told ABC12 he was aware of an incident there.
