(08/07/12) - Construction outside one Flint polling place forced a few extra steps for voters and election workers Tuesday.
New parking lots are being installed at Durant-Tuuri-Mott School.
Heavy equipment blocked one driveway, making it hard for some to get to the polling place entrance.
Flint City Clerk Inez Brown says workers put in a pathway specifically to address that problem.
But one campaign worker believes the construction kept some people away.
"When you see all these things going, big double-tandem trucks coming through, everybody's wary. Some who came and voted parked back here, they parked over in the grass," said campaign worker James Owensby.
When election workers arrived at the school at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, they found there was no water in the building.
The water was turned on a few hours later.
