
(08/13/12) - People in Mid-Michigan are raising money to help secure the release of Amir Hekmati.
The former Flint student is in custody in Iran, accused of being a spy for the United States.
The Mott Community College choral director has teamed up with Hekmati's family to throw a benefit concert.
It will be held at the UM-Flint Theater Saturday, Aug. 25 at 7 p.m.
The money raised will be used for diplomatic solutions to Amir's release.
