(08/13/12) - Some high-profile Saginaw athletes are stepping up to help students in their hometown.
The first annual First Impression Back To School Event will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 29.
The LaMarr Woodley Foundation will provide school supplies, haircuts and other necessities to the first 200 boys - grades one through eight - who sign up.
Another well-known Trojan says he's happy to be involved.
"LaMarr brought it to me and I think it was a great idea. At the end of the day, everyone isn't as fortunate and when you get an opportunity to give back, you want to give back," said Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors.
Two hundred kids will receive back-to-school packages, but only if they register by this Friday.
Registration forms are available at the Civitan Center on North Second Avenue.
