(08/20/12) - The Pure Michigan campaign is focusing on Flint.
The campaign, most popular for these commercials featuring Tim Allen's voice, is working on another digital spot to be shown on You Tube - similar to one promoting Grand Rapids.
It will be a music video with an ambitious shooting schedule - 50 cities in just a few days.
Monday night is Flint's turn.
"Any chance to work with Pure Michigan is very exciting for us," said Cheryl DeFrain, Director of the Flint-Genesee Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Saginaw Street is already blocked off from Second Street north to 1st avenue - it will be lined with classic convertibles.
Mid-Michigan residents are invited to get in on the shoot.
"We plan on having children in the video. If you have grandkids, you want to bring them down, we would like everyone to come down and watch. Even if we can't get everyone in the video, we'd like to get them to watch," DeFrain said.
Flint has been featured on Pure Michigan radio ads, but never in a You Tube video.
Though the Vehicle City will only be a part of the finished product, Flint's automotive heritage will be shining bright.
"When we hit out the bricks, the arches and the cars, there's just something about that that makes you smile and it was just a great opportunity," DeFrain said.
If you'd like to be in the video, you should be in place downtown by 6:30 p.m. Monday. Filming begins around 7.
