(08/21/12) - Voters in Bay City will not get the chance to decide whether to fund a proposed merger of the city's police and fire services.
The city commission voted Monday night and was not able to override Mayor Chris Shannon's veto.
That means the millage for public safety consolidation will not be on November ballot.
Shannon says his veto was based on dollars, as the city's high tax rate already drives people away.
