Michigan delegation to have front-row seat at RNC

(08/27/12) - The Tampa Bay Times Forum will feel a lot different Tuesday when the Republican National Convention convenes for its first session. The Mid-Michigan delegation will see it up close and personal.

They're sitting in the best seat of the house – the first row at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.  It's just feet away from the podium.

On Tuesday, the convention has two sessions – one in the afternoon and one in the evening.   The last event of the first session will be the roll call vote to officially nominate Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. It's something our Mid-Michigan delegates are taking very seriously.

"People, I think, are really going to enjoy it. They're going to see the political process, how it works, and of course it works best here in good ol' U.S.A.," said delegate Gerald Wall.

"It's exciting to be on the floor. And with Michigan being front and center, we are so fortunate.  We are really being spoiled," said delegate Prudy Adam.

Tuesday's theme at the convention is "We Built It."  The primetime speakers include Mitt Romney's wife Ann and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.
