(09/03/12) - As the end of summer rolls around, some families were on a mission to get one last day of family fun in before school starts.
Parents wheeled them in, and Crossroads Village was ready to deliver the fun.
We were too early to see the train take off, but it's all we heard about.
"My little one loves trains, so we decided to come here and let him get on the train," said Robert Letson of Bay City.
And who could forget the carousel rides. We found kids of all ages enjoying this old time ride.
Kids also get an early history lesson when they stepped into the 1883 school house, and it won't be long before they find themselves in a classroom of their own.
Even without Mother Nature's help, one family felt the heat while watching the blacksmith mold and shape hot iron. And as it turns out, one mom especially felt the heat this summer.
"It was a long hot summer because I was pregnant with him," said Lorraine Miller of Montrose.
Mom is now keeping her cool with 3-week old baby Bryson, who is experiencing his first Labor Day.
