CORUNNA (WJRT) -
(09/05/12) - A Mid-Michigan soldier killed in action will be laid to rest early next week.
The funeral for 20-year-old Private First Class Shane Cantu is scheduled for Monday at the Corunna High School football field.
Shane's former football coach says the army soldier died in Afghanistan last week after an attack on his base. Shane had only been deployed a short time.
He was a star athlete and a popular student at Corunna.
