(09/05/12) - A Michigan State Police report says that six people died in Labor Day weekend crashes on state streets and highways. That's half the toll of last year's holiday period.
All six happened in six separate crashes.
State police say just one of the six victims was wearing a seat belt, and alcohol was a known factor in one of the accidents.
State police count holiday weekend crashes from 6 p.m. Friday through midnight Monday.
