(09/05/12) - Saginaw County's Animal Control Center is one step closer to hiring a new director.
The shelter's director resigned - following complaints her rules were too strict and possibly abusive.
Since then, the county has been accepting applications for her replacement.
Wednesday afternoon, the Courts and Public Safety Committee formed a new subcommittee that will handle the hiring process.
They will accept applications until Sept. 12, then they will go through them and start doing interviews.
They could make a decision within a few weeks.
