(09/08/12) - A new event is aiming to bring people together for years to come. And they did it with a huge party.
The party on the bricks of downtown Flint had an international flare.
There was plenty of food, music and culture Saturday night.
It was all a part of the first-ever International Fest.
"It is important to celebrate that culture and diversity. Its important that we are brought together to once again to remember our culture and diversity, but also remember that we are one community," said Ted Valley with the Downtown Development Authority.
Organizers hope to make the event bigger and better next year.
