MT. PLEASANT (WJRT) -
(09/08/12) - In Mt. Pleasant, tens of thousands of people were in town for the 'Clash at Kelly/Shorts'.
It was a big day on the campus of Central Michigan University. For the first time in school history, in-state rival Michigan State University played on CMU's home turf.
Aside from the big game, thousands flooded the parking lots at Kelly/Shorts Stadium to tailgate.
"This is a lot different than any other games I ever been [to] up here. Different atmosphere and a lot more people. You can feel it, it is real fun. College football is the best man," said Jake Lindlater, a CMU alum.
"I am going to be honest, you guys tailgate hard up here at Central Michigan," said MSU student, Jake Cooper.
"We are having a wonderful time, meeting lots of people. Matter of fact, I graduated from Michigan State. So I haven't had any green and white. I am strictly here for the maroon and gold today," added Cathy Diggins, the proud parent of a CMU student.
MSU beat CMU on their home field, 41-7.
