SANDUSKY, Ohio -

Police are searching for answers After finding the bodies of a young mother and her two children. Sandusky police discovered the bodies of Heather Jackson, 23, her 3-year-old daughter and her 18-month-old son Saturday.

Heather's body was in between her box spring and mattress. The two children were found in a closet. Police are treating the investigation as a homicide.

Friends and neighbors are coming forward to hold a vigil for Heather and her children.

Heather's friend Takye Fenderson said, "I didn't think that she was a violent girl to the point where somebody would want to kill her and her kids, you know what I'm saying?"

Another friend Ashley Walls says she's known Jackson since high school. "She didn't have any problems. Everybody loved Heather. Everyone knows Heather."

This week, Walls plans to donate her earnings at Generations Salon in Sandusky to Heather's family.

She hopes to raise enough to give her friend, along with her two children, a proper burial.

"I don't care how long you talk to somebody, she will always have my heart. She was such a good mom. And this just rocks me to the core. It's disgusting."

Police have not yet said whether there was a weapon involved and so far, no suspects.

Friends were organizing a candlelight vigil set for Sunday at 8pm in front of the Heather's John Street home  - right across from the hospital.
