FLINT TOWNSHIP (WJRT) -

(09/10/12) - A Mid-Michigan church is expanding its community outreach by offering a new program. They hope you'll set a little time aside on Wednesdays.

Our Lady of Lebanon on Calkins road is well known for their popular summer time Mid-East Festival. Now, the church is reaching out to the community in a new way.

"We have this great festival that we do every year and we love putting it on for the community and we love sharing this for everyone and we wanted to say what else can we do? What else can we do throughout the year?" said Nadia Zerka, program leader, Community Outreach.

Zerka and other church members are pulling together to create a new community outreach program.

It debuts this Wednesday, and they're inviting the community - even non church members.

It will feature a guest speaker and a chance for people to talk about topics impacting their lives. Every second Wednesday of the month, the speakers will discuss a variety of topics from health care to social concerns.

If you're interested, the church doors are open this Wednesday at 7 p.m.
