GENESEE COUNTY (WJRT) -
(09/10/12) - The chief officer of Genesee County's Animal Control Department has suspended the volunteer program at the county's animal shelter.
The decision was made last week over legal, union and risk management concerns.
The suspension means dog walking and other free services will end for now.
Shelter employees will provide the necessary care for the animals for the time being.
