(09/22/12) - Flint's high crime rate prompted a special event Saturday.
Hundreds joined hands to pray for Flint. The goal was to have people praying up and down a 10-mile stretch of Saginaw Street.
It was all part of a city-wide prayer chain.
They were praying for an end to violence, unemployment and blight.
"This is our city, we have to take care of the people in our city. And when we see ourselves as gate keepers, a change will take place," said Geneva Spears who helped organize the event.
People from more than 90 different churches and organizations took part.
