(09/22/12) - The Michigan State Police want you to be prepared.
That's why they've partnered up with Target to host a 'Prepare Fair' in Flint Township.
First responders were at this store on Miller Road Saturday. They shared advice on how to be ready for an emergency or disaster.
Some of those tips hit close to home for many residents who suffered damage following severe flooding earlier this year.
"This summer, Genesee County was hit by some major flooding. So much so, that they brought in the Federal government and they got involved to help us recover from this. What better place to show that if you are prepared, that it will go much smoother," said MSP Inspector Gene Kapp.
Recommended preparations include having a family plan, and learning to perform basic first aid.
