(09/24/12) - The Gratiot County prosecutor says a police officer who shot and killed a dog in St. Louis, will not be charged.
Officer Matt Vanhall shot and killed "Scout" in his owner's backyard on Sept. 9.
The shooting sparked protest from people in the community, demanding justice for Scout.
Vanhall says Scout came at him while he was responding to a call about a loose dog.
The dog was shot at least twice and died at the vet's office.
