(09/28/12) - More than 180,000 people in Mid-Michigan will get a meal thanks to a bowl of soup.
Thursday, the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan held its annual Empty Bowls event.
For a $15 donation, visitors received a bowl made by students at the Flint Institute of Arts and soup provided by local restaurants.
There was also an auction of bowls signed by celebrities.
The food bank is still totaling up the money, but the event brought in more than $30,000.
