SAGINAW COUNTY (WJRT) -

(10/01/12) - A suspended Michigan State Police trooper will spend the next three years on probation after a drunken driving conviction.

John Beemer was sentenced Monday morning. He'll also spend 30 days on electronic monitoring.

Investigators says Beemer drove through a stop sign in Thomas Township in January of 2011. He hit another car, injuring four people. He was off duty at the time.

Beemer was acquitted of the "Super Drunk" charge tied to having a blood alcohol level of .17 at the time.

According to the Michigan State Police, Beemer is still suspended without pay.
