(10/01/12) - For 20 years, Brian's House helped families through some of their darkest times. But the hospice center's doors have been closed for a month now.
The community isn't ready to give up; one group is reaching out to a state representative to try and find solutions.
Brian's House gives terminally ill patients somewhere peaceful to spend their last days, but McLaren Home Care Group says changes in medicare funding forced them to close both their Bay City and Davison locations.
Monday night, the Bay City community brainstormed ways to save the center.
They invited state representative Charles Brunner to their meeting.
McLaren says they have a task force looking into the possibility of partially opening Brian's House; they'll talk about it this week.
