(10/04/12) - There was big news Friday afternoon from the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan in Flint.
The Food Bank has formed a partnership with the city of Flint and the Department of Natural Resources that will allow for the renovation and reopening of Brennan Park. This will also allow the Food Bank to move forward with plans to turn the old Peerless Furniture Warehouse into a fresh produce repackaging and volunteer center.
The Food Bank will maintain the park, along with support from the UAW Region 1-C.
It's anticipated that both the new packaging center and park will open in 12 to 14 months.
