FLINT (WJRT) -

(10/13/12) - An empty building went up in flames Saturday in Flint.

The smoke pouring from the old Otto W. Liebold & Company wholesale meat facility could be seen for miles.

Flint's battalion chief says the fire started around 12:30 p.m.

The building was completely destroyed.

"When we arrived, we found about 25 percent engulfed already, and as we made the initial connection with our hoses, the roof collapsed, and that deemed us to be an offensive operation for us," said Battalion Chief Andy Graves.

Davison firefighters were called in to help put out the fire.
