(10/18/12) - The holiday season is quickly approaching, and with that comes an increased strain on many non-profits. This year, a Mid-Michigan company is helping out in a big way.
To help meet the needs of the underprivileged, Skaff Furniture and Carpet One is offering "Save and Share" gift certificates. For $50, you can get a $150 certificate. $25 of the proceeds goes to one of three organizations.
"The customer gets to decide which of the three organizations they want it to go to; Carriage Town Ministries. Food Bank of Eastern Michigan or Whaley Children," said owner Dick Skaff.
$25 can go a long way for the food bank. To give you an idea of how it can help, $1 translates into six meals.
"It adds up really quick when you talk $50-$100, your very quickly to thousands and thousands of meals for people in need. Being that we serve 22 counties in Michigan, the need is very great," said Kara Ross with the Food Bank.
The offer is available now through the holidays. If you'd like to purchase a gift certificate - click HERE.
