(10/24/12) - Statues were a topic of discussion in downtown Flint Wednesday.
Back to the Bricks organizers say they now have funding in place for another automotive pioneer statue.
A donation of nearly $13,000 from Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy and ELGA Credit Union helped reach that goal.
"This check means we can go ahead and get started on Walter P. Chrysler. He's going to be the third in the series of eight to 10 statues. Work has begun on him. He's starting to work on the bust of the statue," said Back To The Bricks executive dir. Al Hatch.
Another automotive pioneer is currently being bronzed. Organizers hope to have David Dunbar Buick standing alongside Louis Chevrolet before the end of the year.
